Parents play an important role but are not the central character. Allow your student to take the lead and let them begin to take responsibility for their future. You can help take the pressure off your busy student by scheduling and organizing college visits. Your student should drive the conversations about where to apply and complete their applications on their own. This is a great time to offer support and at the same time encourage independence so your student will grow into a successful young adult.
Favorite Purdue Location: I absolutely love to stroll down 3rd Street. The great, new buildings like Honors College and Residences, Bechtel Innovation Design Center, Krach Leadership Center, and 3rd Street Suites, combined with historic buildings like the Black Cultural Center and Windsor Hall make this stretch of campus full of energy and students. Then add in the Edison lights, fire pits and lawn chairs, and 3rd street is just dreamy!
