Integrated Business and Engineering
Purdue University in Indianapolis, Purdue University in West Lafayette
In partnership with the College of Engineering, Integrated Business and Engineering (IBE) at the Mitch Daniels School of Business is an elite, cohort-based major. IBE students graduate with a bachelor’s degree from the Business School and concentrated coursework in engineering that prepares them to work at the intersection of business and technology, adapting to changing environments, leading teams and making key strategic decisions.
You will be challenged in courses in both engineering and business, and by experiential learning projects that encourage innovation in team-based design and development. After graduation, thrive in management and leadership roles in the engineering and technology sectors. You will be able to make better management decisions because you will understand how engineers think and work and the technical aspects of their business or field.
If you want to focus on business principles while also taking some engineering coursework to understand the industry, the IBE program is for you. You will have the education to help innovate in the technology and engineering sectors from within a business or organization.
Meet our Students: Shreya Rastogi
When it came to choosing Purdue, the strength of the Daniels School’s Integrated Business and Engineering program was the deciding factor for Shreya Rastogi. She’s added a data analytics concentration to her challenging coursework. Her classes and presidential role in the Integrated Business and Engineering Student Council (IBESC) give Shreya insight into her goals. This led to her first internship as a business analytics and branding strategy extern at Beats by Dre the summer after her freshman year. Through this experience and her EDGE internship at AT&T during the summer after her sophomore year, Shreya has gained skills to help her pursue her interests in project management and business analyst roles following graduation.
Shreya hopes to continue learning in a community that constantly works together to create positive change.
